Just a general discussion thread - what does everyone think of the local events that take place round here throughout the summer? Any memorable goings-on to share?!!
I played at Cockrock last week with COLT45 and have to say I really enjoyed the weekend. There were a few too many covers bands and one or two who I thought weren't ready for a festival stage just yet but on the whole I thought it was really well organised and all the revellers seemed to be having a great time.
Kendal Calling is amazing fun to play at and attend, loads going on and the location is perfect in my opinion.
Good old Solfest still going strong, can't wait to play this year with C45, it's always a right laugh, just hope the weather isn't too miserable!!

I had sour grapes about cockrock as we were not wanted there, i understand the pull of cover bands, buy i think cumbria would be ok going to a music festival without being scared of music that was unfamiliar, especially with bands like gallows and ffaf, AND steve harley to sing/scream loudly to!!! I really wanted to play :-( super immature but THATS JUST ME!!!!

We were blacklisted 2 years due basically to Bez. The ban is lifted next year, even though we played last year. No Sex from us let alone it being On Fire, maybe that was why......

Cockrock is a pretty good festival, but i dont really see the need to put covers bands on that would be more at home in a pub on a friday night. Solfest was a good laugh, but could do with some more current bands on the line up. We (rigsby) have got valentine rock coming this weekend, hopefully that should get a good turn out.
